What do you do with the cards and letters you receive? Do you keep them all, just keep the photos, throw them away?

depends on who they're from. christmas cards i usually toss (again, depends who they're from) but i'll keep the picture ones. thank you cards, birthday cards and such i usually keep.
i'll go through them every once in a while and weed some out... like, why do i keep the wedding invitation of people who have since divorced?
When did you really get to make a difference for someone else?

i make a difference every day!
though one story that makes an impression is the christmas day (4-5 years ago) an online friend called from a couple thousand miles away saying she had noone to be with her and nowhere to go and that she thought she may have taken too many pills. she was addicted to painkillers and was buying them online... i kept her on the phone while i called everyone she knew and left messages (they were all out being it was christmas) and then i called her local police and had them check the house. a few hours later i got a call back from them that they had broken into the house, found her unconscious on the kitchen floor and had taken her to the ER. she was checked into the hospital's rehab center and stayed for a few weeks.
oddly enough i'm not sure if it was a good difference for her... she ended up getting divorced, losing her two kids, losing her childhood home and bouncing from job to job. she's since vanished from the online world and i've lost touch with her.
